Briana, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, understands that nutrition is unique to each individual and supports clients based on their lifestyle and food preferences. She understands food is emotional, and she meets you where you are at to support the notion that food is fuel and nourishment. Food is not always easy to get or easy to eat based on time and other individual lifestyle factors. She provides tools for athletes to have food ready before hunger hits. She delves into cognitive behavioral therapy to change negative behaviors about body image or food choices so that individuals can enjoy and succeed in both life and their sport to the fullest. She especially loves helping individuals learn how food fuels their brain and their athletic events and how food does not need to be demonized.
There are many misconceptions about nutrition out there in general, especially for athletes. For athletes, there is a higher need for certain macronutrients such as carbohydrates for endurance and high intensity activities.
Briana Bruinooge started her private practice after completing her Dietetic Internship at Montana State University in 2018. In the same year, she worked as the performance intern for Minnesota Twins Baseball Organization. She has a long history of working with athletes through group fitness training, personal training and receiving her certification in Sports Dietetics. She continues her sports nutrition work with Bowdoin College athletes and staff. She also works closely with a local triathlon group and running group in Portsmouth, New Hampshire as well as high school cross country.
She enjoys trail running, mountain biking, gravel biking, rock climbing, hiking and skiing in the White Mountains. Her longest running race has been a 50K in Maine. She understands that matching athletic performance with nutrition needs is not an easy task and she is here to help.

Training Block was created with a mission to support and empower runners, in order to elevate our sport. We do so by giving runners access to a network of local sport performance providers, who provide runners with the care they need from coaching, physical therapy, massage, strength training, and more. We also give providers an easy way to connect with each other and share articles, videos, and other resources that benefit runners and providers alike. For every service booked through Training Block, we donate 10% of our revenues to Training Block’s Elite Athlete Fund, which sponsors elite runners who do not have professional contracts and need financial support for racing at their highest level.
