Dr. Schroeder has long had a passion for athletics, playing collegiate soccer at Doane College, before pursuing a dual degree in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training from Shenandoah University in Virginia. Now working in Boulder, CO, Dr. Schroeder works extensively with the running, triathlete, CrossFit and soccer populations. In support of the local community, he offers Speed, Agility and Quickness camps for youth athletes with an emphasis on biomechanics, running technique, and injury prevention.
As a manual therpaist, Dr. Schroeder utilizes several treatment techniques including: Functional Dry Needling, Active Release Techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue, and Cupping Therapy. The principal philosophy being, that by utilizing a variety of these techniques, we can create an optimal state in an athlete and then follow-up with the use of therapeutic exercises to maximize these gains. This involves using a variety of range of motion exercises, balance exercises or strengthening exercises, but each program created is developed to meet the specific needs of the individual athlete.
Furthermore, at Colorado Sports Physiotherapy, we believe there is often a gap between the completion of traditional therpay and a true ability to return to sport. Dr. Schroeder uses his unique exercise background to help athletes merge that gap and more successfully return to sport by offering programming that progresses beyond traditional rehabilitative exercises. In this manner, we have seen a quicker return to pre-injury levels and a reduction in the rate of re-injury in our athletes.

Training Block was created with a mission to support and empower runners, in order to elevate our sport. We do so by giving runners access to a network of local sport performance providers, who provide runners with the care they need from coaching, physical therapy, massage, strength training, and more. We also give providers an easy way to connect with each other and share articles, videos, and other resources that benefit runners and providers alike. For every service booked through Training Block, we donate 10% of our revenues to Training Block’s Elite Athlete Fund, which sponsors elite runners who do not have professional contracts and need financial support for racing at their highest level.
