Mental Skills for Ultrarunning
You spend hundreds of dollars on the race. Pay a coach. Train hours upon hours, but are you training your mind?
I guarantee barring some catastrophic situation or injury, if you have the fitness you can succeed at the ultradistance.
We focus so much on training our bodies, hour after hour, mile after mile, interval after interval yet everyone will tell you it’s about what your mind is doing during race day.

This six-week training is designed to periodize your mental skills, especially if you’re shooting for a spring or summer ultra. The sessions will be an hour long with opportunities for discussion as well as take home assignments. That’s right - you’ll need to put in your mental reps along side your steady state intervals and hill climbs. There will be one make up date to be determined for people who missed one of the sessions. Whether ten people sign up or one this training will happen.
Who is this for?
While designed for ultrarunners any athlete is welcome to join.
What if I sign up and can’t make it?
I am going to have one make up date to be determined before the training ends.
This course meets 7pm-8pm Mountain on the following dates:
April 5th, 2023
April 12th, 2023
April 19th, 2023
May 3rd, 2023
May 10th, 2023
May 17th, 2023
There will be two bonus dates: July 26th and September 27th for midseason and end of season review!
The course will be recorded for missed sessions.
Handouts and homework material will be used as well as a forum for open discussion outside of the training.
This course costs $250. Early registration March 1st-15th for $175 after that it goes back up to $250
